Corona Virus

is this a dream
is this for real
I had a snuffle
it was no big deal
now a virus sweeps the land
its angry cross
and wont be banned
have we taken too much for granted
have the seeds of doom we have planted
greed, fast pace, changes all the time
people chanting in a different rhyme
overcrowding, pollution, greed, things we dont need
shopping, hopping on planes
did we plant the seed
families do we care
about the right things
or does media make us only like things that look good
young, healthy thats how it is
if you are old you just get in a tis
no patience for anything but those looks
what will happen
how will it end
will this self isolation drive us round the bend
is man meant to walk the earth
with all his power and all his worth
be struck down
with a tiny bug
floating in the air…
we are strong and some will survive
and it will go on this World
you will see
but this is a warning to us human beings
cos we have taken for granted
all we do
now too much pollution, globalisation, throw away society, in every sense, goods, rubbish, each other…
through the madness we have made a Spring of Hope will grow
and you do know
that life will go on…
we dont know where we came from
or which deity made it be
but thank God for what there is to be

I became interested in poetry about a year ago and try to write about things from my heart that are associated with events in my life or events going on in the World at large or closer to home. I am a visual artist and still am to a certain extent having exhibited some of my work as a visually impaired artist using sponges to paint. I have lost most of my eyesight in recent years to advanced glaucoma and my vision is now very limited I am finding my creativity now evolving in writing poetry and hope to publish my own book of verse in the future. I have a blog page on Wordpress where I share my poetry, art, photography, thoughts and favourite quotes and prayers at
