Selfie Time

Shall I take a selfie

I surely think it’s time
Smile with a great big grin
That will do just fine
Post it up on Facebook
Instagram or twittter
And everyone can say
Oh you look so much fitter!
Never before did we feel the need to be so vain
As we post pix of ourselves
Again and again and again!
Laughter grins and funny face
Not a single trace
Of sadness
Held deep inside
That is something we must all hide
As we happily grin
What a silly thing
It is
So don’t get in a ‘tis
As your selfie you do take
Those smiles of happiness
Give us all a break
From the days chores
Work, sorrows  and madness
All become a bore
So get that smart phone out
Look at it and smile
And soon you will feel pleased
If only for a while
And filled with some type of gladness
Technology has made it so
So many pictures we can snap
Waste our time on Facebook
Doing this and that
Selfie after selfie
Will no one notice me!
Well I think I will give up now
And have a cuppa tea!

I became interested in poetry about a year ago and try to write about things from my heart that are associated with events in my life or events going on in the World at large or closer to home. I have a blog page on Wordpress where I share my poetry, art, photography, thoughts and favourite quotes and prayers at
