I think cat owners are familiar with this

There was a little cat …her name is Katykins

She liked sitting on things ….

Sometimes I sit in the washing basket

Who is to question why

I sit here and I ponder

As the World goes by

There is always a new place for me to park

It really is an awesome lark

On some newspaper

Or the window sill

The laptop is warm and just brill

I go from place to place

To have a little nap

And sometimes I just stare

Through the cat flap

At times I run around and have a crazy moment me

Just to get attention so mum gets me my tea

She puts it on my plate I turn my nose up of course it’s wrong

When will she get me something better I just always sing this song!

Then after tea if there is a box or a cosy hiding place

I will sit there hidden I really have the grace

And after I look out through the window it’s busy as can be

I think it’s best I stay in here though I’d really like to be free

the World seems rather crazy out there

People rush and don’t seem to have a care

So I’ll find another spot

To sit on me dear

Just here!

In this house

Ooh there’s a mouse!

I’ll chase it round and round

But don’t make a sound

Cos it time for another nap

And that is that!

I became interested in poetry about a year ago and try to write about things from my heart that are associated with events in my life or events going on in the World at large or closer to home. I am a visual artist and still am to a certain extent having exhibited some of my work as a visually impaired artist using sponges to paint. I have lost most of my eyesight in recent years to advanced glaucoma and my vision is now very limited I am finding my creativity now evolving in writing poetry and hope to publish my own book of verse in the future. I have a blog page on Wordpress where I share my poetry, art, photography, thoughts and favourite quotes and prayers at https://rosypoems.com
