Social Media App

There is an app it’s called Vorail

And this is why I tell my tale

My sight is failing to glaucoma

I really was feeling like a loaner

I cry each day it’s very true

Losing my sight has made me blue

I thought Vorail would help my plight

As this awful disease I have to fight

Questions questions every day

People ask them come what may

Happy folks and cross ones too

Musicians singers there are a few

A real mixed bunch I have to say

I listen to them day by day

And add my question my sounds of Southend on sea

It is a reflection of my life, of me

St Mary’s bells and music aplenty too

I’ll play it all for you

On Vorail

As you ask your questions and tell your tale

I wander through this awful dream

Which is really what to me it seems

As I wake every day

And my vision fades away

I feel sometimes cross and sometimes mad

But really I am so sad

As an artist I used to be

And colours I’d mix and blend you see

But now it’s blurred like Monet, I guess so

I’ll sit in his garden whilst I feel low

I wonder what my future does really hold

As we never know we are never told

What’s round the corner as they say

As the time goes by so fast day by day

I keep busy writing a ditty

sometimes sad and sometimes witty

I’ve put my paint brushes away for now

I really don’t see how

They are any use to me at all

As into this misty world something calls

Vorail an app for blind folk it’s true

It’s was really meant for everyone to view

It’s been interesting I have to say

And a part of my difficult day

As the blind world it seems I must a part of be

Now that is so difficult to see

So thanks Vorail for helping me along

For all those questions and those songs

You folks have given we the courage

So my weary thoughts I will disparage

Have a lovely day

I’d often say

On Vorail I would relay

So bye for now I must be going

It’s time for tea

You know us Brits

We love our “Rosy Lee!”

I’ll trip over the mat

And kick the cat

My guide dog is chewing a bone

So I’m not alone

A nice cuppa will make it all just right

As I try to cope with this awful plight

I became interested in poetry about a year ago and try to write about things from my heart that are associated with events in my life or events going on in the World at large or closer to home. I am a visual artist and still am to a certain extent having exhibited some of my work as a visually impaired artist using sponges to paint. I have lost most of my eyesight in recent years to advanced glaucoma and my vision is now very limited I am finding my creativity now evolving in writing poetry and hope to publish my own book of verse in the future. I have a blog page on Wordpress where I share my poetry, art, photography, thoughts and favourite quotes and prayers at
